Meet Auguri (“Allie”) – A Gentle Spirit With Floating Movement
Affectionately known as Allie, this tall, elegant mare will win your heart the moment she greets you with her soft, welcoming nicker. While her stature is impressive, her personality is all sweetness and grace. A true barn favorite, Allie is kind, willing, and genuinely aims to please.
Allie leads politely and is respectful on the ground. If she picks up the pace a little on her way to pasture, a simple, gentle reminder is all she needs. She doesn’t require a lead shank and responds well to calm handling.
She stands quietly for grooming and tacking and truly enjoys the attention. Her affectionate nature shines through during every interaction — she loves being pampered and brushed.
Allie wears front shoes and stands quietly for the farrier. As a larger-framed mare, she does require a bit more feed to maintain her ideal weight, but she is otherwise easy to manage in day-to-day care.
Under saddle, Allie is more relaxed and quiet than her presence on the ground might suggest. She’s a “push ride” with a soft, willing attitude. She appreciates a calm, confident rider who gives her time to settle into the work — and she’ll gladly rise to meet your expectations. With the right partner, she will flourish.
Allie has a gentle, people-oriented personality and thrives in a consistent training program. While sensitive at times, she responds beautifully to a kind, patient approach. In turnout, she gets along well with others but is also comfortable on her own. She tends to fall near the bottom of the herd’s pecking order and avoids conflict.
Though she retired from racing due to lack of speed, Allie has no known physical limitations and is ready to pursue a second career. With her athletic build and flowing movement, she could shine in many disciplines — we think she’d make a particularly lovely hunter.
