Meet Dawg – a sweet, level-headed gelding with a kind heart and great potential for a second career.
Dawg leads easily and is generally well-mannered on the ground. He occasionally needs a gentle reminder to stay relaxed when separated from his pasture mates, but overall he’s a respectful and cooperative companion.
He enjoys grooming, especially when it’s quiet around the barn. During his recent photoshoot, he ground-tied like a pro and clearly loved the attention. Dawg prefers soft brushes, warm bubble baths, and a calm grooming environment where he can soak up affection.
Dawg wears front steel shoes and stands politely for the farrier. He maintains well on a typical grain ration and is easy to manage in daily care.
Under saddle, Dawg offers three balanced gaits and shows real athletic promise. He’s still building confidence and appreciates a rider who offers reassurance while he explores new surroundings. With a confident and patient rider, Dawg will continue to grow and shine.
He has been a joy to work with and is a barn favorite for his gentle and honest nature. While he can be a little anxious when separated from his buddies, he is learning to trust people and gain independence.
Dawg has successfully completed rehabilitation from a soft tissue injury and is now ready to thrive in a moderate-impact second career. Veterinary records are available to interested and approved adopters.
